When we released Lisa Talbott's latest book, "My Name is Margot!" earlier this week, we found that some retailers were artificially inflating the paperback price. These were mostly "third party retailers" who sell their goods through Amazon. They can charge whatever price they want for an item -- and it sometimes can hurt the small entrepreneurs like us by showing a high initial price that turns customers away. You can find these predatory entities by looking at the information about the item. It will say "Sold By..." -- and if you are on Amazon and it is anything other than Amazon in that field, it is a "third party retailer."
We encourage our readers to #shoplocal #shopsmallbusiness and visit sites like bookshop.org or indiebound.org to find a local retailer who can order our books for you. We also are accessible through nearly all of the major book retailers (e.g., Barnes and Noble, Waterstones, Books-a-Million) and even WalMart or Target. None of them should be charging a higher retail price (but could add shipping charges) -- and if you can find a LOWER price than what is listed below, consider it a bargain! The reduced prices do not affect our royalties.
To make sure that our readers understand that we are NOT setting the artificially high prices, here is a complete listing of the recommended retail price for all books under the Lineage-Independent Publishing imprint. We limited the list to the US and UK, as they are our primary markets right now.
